Who and what for

Kaft and the Kaft apps are a service of Neal Van de Velde (nealvdv), enterprise and VAT number BE 0671.938.794. All details are on the legal notice. These terms apply to using Kaft and to every Kaft Plus subscription. Exceptions only apply if we agree on them in writing, by email for instance.

What is free and what Kaft Plus is

Free and without an account: Draad in full, and in every other app the learning path and the first 3 topics. Kaft Plus opens the rest: one app of your choice, every app (the Kaft package) or every app for a family of up to 5 pupils. The apps grow: we add topics and improve what is there. A topic marked Concept has not been checked by a subject teacher yet.

Prices

Prices are on the prices page and at checkout, in euro and including 21 % VAT. Nothing is added. Kaft Plus is digital: there are no shipping or delivery costs. An obvious mistake in a price does not bind us. Schools get a quote; the social rate works with a code from a CLB, OCMW or homework class.

How you take out a subscription

You make an account with your email address, choose your plan and fill in your details. Before you pay, you see what you buy, the price and how often you pay. The contract is concluded as soon as your payment at Mollie succeeds. You then get a confirmation with your invoice by email straight away. A subscription is taken out by an adult: if you are under 18, leave it to a parent or guardian.

Term and renewal

A monthly subscription runs a month at a time, a yearly one a year at a time. It renews by itself for the same period, with the same way of paying, until you cancel. A yearly subscription never renews without a reminder: 14 days before, you get an email with the date, the amount and how to cancel. If a renewal fails, Kaft Plus stays open for 3 more days and then stops by itself.

Cancelling

You cancel whenever you like, with one click in My Kaft, without a reason and without cost. No further payment follows. What you already paid for stays open until the end of that period; a period that has started is not refunded, except on withdrawal below. If you delete your account, we cancel all your subscriptions first.

Moving to a bigger plan

If you move from one app to the Kaft package, or from the package to a family, your old subscription stops automatically at Mollie as soon as the new payment succeeds, so you never pay twice. What you already paid for the old subscription stays open until the end of that period, but it is not refunded or credited. You also see this before you pay.

Price changes

If prices change, we tell you by email at least 30 days before your next renewal. The new price only applies from that renewal. If you do not agree, simply cancel before that date.

Right of withdrawal

As a consumer you have 14 days to withdraw from a subscription taken out online, without giving a reason, counting from the day the contract is concluded. Kaft Plus is digital content you can use straight away. That is why at checkout we expressly ask whether you want to start straight away and whether you know that you therefore lose your right of withdrawal as soon as Kaft Plus is open to you (article VI.53, 13° of the Belgian Code of Economic Law). We confirm this in the email with your invoice. From then on you can no longer withdraw, but you can always cancel. If Kaft Plus was not open to you yet, or in case of a mistake on our side, you withdraw within 14 days with a clear message to contact@nealvdv.be or with the model form at the bottom of this page. We then refund you within 14 days, by the same means of payment and at no cost.

Paying and invoices

You pay through Mollie, with Bancontact, a card, a SEPA direct debit or another way Mollie offers. For the renewals, you allow Mollie at the first payment to collect automatically. We never see card or bank details. After every payment you get a numbered invoice with the VAT shown separately, by email and in My Kaft.

Use

Kaft Plus is for you, or for your family within the family plan. Do not share your account with others. Texts, exercises, images and code are protected by copyright: you may use them to learn and, as a teacher, in your own class, but not sell them or copy them on a large scale. If the service is misused, we may close the account after a warning.

Liability

We make the apps with care and keep them online as well as we can, but we cannot promise they are never briefly unavailable or never contain a mistake. Kaft helps you learn; we cannot promise a result at school. We are not liable for indirect damage, except for intent or gross negligence. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.

Questions and complaints

If something is wrong, email contact@nealvdv.be. We answer as soon as we can, usually within a few working days, and look for a solution together. If we cannot agree, you can turn to the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service as a consumer. If you live in another EU country, the European Consumer Centre Belgium can help. The European online dispute resolution (ODR) platform no longer exists since 20 July 2025.

Your data

What we keep, why and for how long, and your rights are in the privacy statement.

Applicable law

These terms and every subscription are governed by Belgian law. If you live in another country as a consumer, you keep the protection the law of that country gives you. In a dispute, the courts the law designates have jurisdiction; as a consumer you can always also go to the court of your own place of residence.

Changes

We may change these terms. For a running subscription, we announce a change that is to your disadvantage at least 30 days in advance by email, and you may then cancel at no cost. Otherwise the terms apply as they were when you took out the subscription.
